Hand-made quilt throw, donated by Debbie Colomb of Sew Special

Shipping: US

This quilt throw is made up of numerous fabric pieces sewn together in a visually striking geometric pattern. The design forms a large spiral or diamond shape that draws the eye inward from the edges to the center. Triangular and parallelogram-shaped patches alternate between solid and patterned fabrics, creating contrast and depth. The fabrics include a mix of warm tones like orange, brown, and tan, cooler blues, as well as some lighter cream and beige shades. Various prints include florals, tiny dots, abstract shapes, and leafy designs. The quilt's craftsmanship is detailed, with precise stitching and carefully aligned seams, contributing to its intricate and artistic look. It would add a rustic, handmade charm to any room.

Hand-made baby quilt, donated by Debbie Colomb of Sew Special

Shipping: US

The winning bidder will have a choice between two different baby quilts. The descriptions of each follow:

1. This baby blanket has a rectangular shape and is divided into a grid of nine squares arranged in three rows and three columns. The fabric colors alternate between a light beige and a slightly darker tan for the squares. Five of these squares feature bright red, five-pointed stars sewn onto them, with one star in the center square and the other four positioned in each of the corner squares. In the bottom left square of the blanket, there is a large applique of a stylized horse’s head and neck. The horse is crafted from a dark brown fabric, with subtle lighter brown stitching to define facial details. Its ears and muzzle are distinctly shaped, and it has a small star-shaped tuft of hair on top of its head. The horse’s eyes are embroidered with black thread, giving it a gentle, friendly expression. Around its neck, it wears a blue bandana decorated with a small white print pattern, adding a pop of color and a playful element to the design. The horse also has a red-orange band across its forehead, resembling a headband. Surrounding the patchwork squares is a narrow checkerboard border, alternating between small black and white squares. The outer edge of the blanket has a simple tan border that frames the entire piece neatly. The stitching throughout the blanket includes subtle quilted patterns in the background fabric, adding texture and depth to the overall design. The combination of warm earthy tones with vibrant accents gives the blanket a cozy, country-inspired look perfect for a child's nursery.
2. This baby quilt features a charming underwater theme with a patchwork design. It is composed of large squares in various shades of blue and green, which create a watery, ocean-like background. Around the perimeter of the main blue-green patchwork area, there is a decorative border consisting of alternating black and white squares, forming a checkerboard
pattern that frames the central design. Within this central area, appliquéd sea-themed elements are arranged: First, In the lower right corner, there is a large turtle. The turtle has a dark green shell segmented into sections with lighter green lines, and tan-colored legs and head that extend outward as if swimming. Second, along the lower left portion, there are three different seaweed or coral shapes. These are vertical, slightly wavy fabric pieces in assorted colors and patterns: one is dark blue with a floral pattern, another is a reddish-brown with a print, and the third is a lighter orange or tan color with intricate designs. Third, Closer to the center and upper middle parts of the quilt, there are three fish appliqués in yellow and orange tones swimming within the "water". One
yellow fish is positioned just above the seaweed, another smaller one is near the top center, and an orange fish is nearer to the middle-right area. The colors and patterns combine to deliver a playful, aquatic scene suitable for a baby or young child. The quilt conveys a soft, aquatic ambiance with gentle hues and whimsical marine life details.
