Pyramid Game: Pyramid Objective: To correctly guess the word, phrase, or category from the clue given by the clue giver. Winner: The team with the most points at the conclusion of the game. Set up: *Participants will be divided into two teams by a host or a volunteer *Each team will have a captain *A score keeper and timer will be asked to volunteer, or one will be requested To begin: The host will recite the six categories to choose from in round 1 Each category has five word(s) or phrase(s) *Team will agree upon a category, and captain will make it final *Time will be set for 1 ½ minutes, and begin when the clue giver gives the first clue *Participants are allowed one guess per key up *Once the answer is correctly guessed, the clue giver will acknowledge that the answer is right and move on to the next word or phrase, until all of them are correctly guessed or until time runs out *Any words/phrases that are not guessed are then taken over to the second team for a steal *Once passed over each word/phrase is allotted 10 seconds. For example if two words are left the clue giver has 20 seconds to get his/her team to guess the remaining word/phrase. When team 1 has completed their category or if any remaining words/phrases were passed over to team 2 and they have completed it, play is then moved over to team two to pick the next category. Play will continue in this alternating fashion until all categories have been chosen At this point the team with the lowest score will choose between Bonus 1 or 2 Time will be set for 2 minutes, and begin when the clue giver gives the first clue In the bonus rounds the participants are looking to guess the categories, as opposed to the word/phrase Round 2 will continue in the same manner, however, team two will start the round off Scoring: Each correct answer is worth 10 points, and 5 points for a steal, including the bonus rounds Rules for Clue givers: You are not able to give the following types of clues: Rhyming, rhymes with, opposite of, fill in blanks. You can’t say things like: Put those words together Not…(not black, to get team to say white) Clue givers must stick to their clues and not try to coerce their team in any other way, this will result in an illegal turn If an illegal clue is given, there will be no points awarded for the word/phrase and play moves on to the next word/phrase Bonus rules: Clue givers are allowed to use only a list, no description; meaning no adjectives, adverbs, etc. However descriptive clues are allowed in categories that begin with the word what or how. For example What a slot machine may say or Why a child may not want to go to bed. Any What or How except where applicable for example the what a blank may say, Note: the host has the discretion to allow or disallow any clue if questionable two and they completed it, team two will proceed as above rules/Guidelines for Pyramid Clue Givers: * Have fun For regular puzzles: * Do not use any of the words you are trying to get your team to say * Do not say opposite of, or not black.. for white * Do not say how many words are in the answer (example; first word is …) * If you say the answer, just move on to the next one (that word will not count) *Do not say rhymes with or sounds like Bonus Puzzles: Except for the puzzle that is “What someone or something may say” you must just give your team a list of things Do not be descriptive, no adjectives
