Selecting a Room

After using your tt file to enter into our "Lounge" area, arrow down to view list of rooms. You may use first letter navigation to jump quickly to your desired selection.

Joining a Room

You may join a room by either pressing enter on the room name, or pressing Control J.

Leaving a Room

To leave a room, and the site completely, Pres F2, and then Alt F4. If you wish to leave the room, but stay on Out-Of-Sight, press Control L.

Treeview

When you first enter a TeamTalk Channel, aka a Chat Room, you are in the “treeview”, or "room window". You can arrow up or down to see if there are any other members in the room with you. At the end of each room title, you will see the total number of occupants. For instance, it may read, 0, 2, or 23, etc.

Viewing the Names of Current Users on our TeamTalk Server

Pressing the key combination Control Shift U, shows who is online, their nickname, real name, what room they are in, and their version of TeamTalk. Just arrow up or down the list to see who is currently on the site. To get out of this list, press the escape key.

Keying Up to Speak

We have a queue system, and this means that you have to "get in line" to speak. When you wish to ask a question, or make a comment, simply hold your left control key down, so that when the queue is clear, you will be notified that it is your turn to speak. You will need to hold your left control key down even while someone else is speaking. This will not interrupt their transmission, but will ensure your desire to speak is not missed.

Adjusting the Room Volume

From the treeview. Tab once to Master Volume. Arrow up or down to raise or lower the volume of the room. To get back to the treeview, Shift Tab once.

Adjusting Your Microphone Volume

From the treeview, tab twice to Microphone Gain. Use your up or down arrow keys to raise or lower the volume of your microphone. To get back to the treeview, Shift Tab twice.

Announcing the Name of Current Speaker

Press the key combination Control Shift G to see who is speaking.

Adjusting the Volume of a User

Arrow to the participant's name whose volume you wish to change. Press the key combination Control U. Use your arrow keys to raise or lower the volume on the slider switch. When satisfied with the level, Shift Tab once, and press the ok button.

Adjusting the Volume of a Users Streaming Audio

If you want to adjust the volume of someone's streaming audio, arrow to the name of the person who is streaming, hold down the control and shift keys together, and press left arrow to lower the sound or right arrow to raise the sound.

Sending a Private Message

When you wish to send a private message to a member also in the room, or for that matter, in another room on the site, simply arrow to their name, and press enter. Tab to the edit field, and type your message. Tab, and press the send button. You must be sure to press the enter key on the selected name, otherwise, the message may end up being sent to someone else in the room. You can confirm that your message will go to the correct person by pressing insert-t before sending it.

Reading a Private Message

Alt Tab to the participant's conversation window. Tab to the History field, and arrow up and down to read the messages. Tab to the edit field, and type your reply. Tab, and press the send button.

Locking/Unlocking the "Talk" Key

To lock, or unlock your "talk" (left control key), press the key combination, Control Shift a. This is a toggle switch.
